This is what I received from mail order HoneyCreek nurseries based in bloomington, IL. They have 8 afffiliated companies under various names all based out of the same city, state.
Scam or major scam? I have tried contacting this company via email and telephone# for replacement/refund with no success for the past month. I have also filed complaints with both the BBB of Illinois and the attorney general's office in IL.
Any recommendations or advice? I would love to file a lawsuit against these turkeys.
Warning - Honeycreek nurseries mail order
chicago,
there is a group of these nursery houses in the midwest that are all connected. when most people begin to use mail order they get trapped by these places because of their cheap prices and pretty pictures.
time and again they rip off people, however, nothing is done to them because they "complete" the transaction. so legally, no one can touch them.
this probably won't make you feel any better but consider yourself lucky that, that was all you ordered from them. many people have been ripped off for far more money.
go to "watchdog" and just read about how they are connected with other rip off places and the next time you are thinking about purchasing from a mail order place, it serves you best to look in up in "watchdog" first before buying so you can check out other people's experiences with the company.
most of us have done it....believe me. also, i know they tell you if you send the packing slip they will replace the plants...don't bother they will be dead too.
i know this doesn't make you feel any better, but just beware...if it looks to good to be true that's because it is! (i'm sure you knew that anyway!).
Chicago, Did you post a negative review in the GW? This affects companies. Some have tried to satisfy their customer after such a post. More importantly, thousands of people will be warned.
Please post this picture in other forums so as many can see it as possible. No explanation necessary. Outrageous. Years ago when a plumber was lax in repairing a leak in a prominent restaurant in Nantucket, the owner put a bucket by the drip with the plumbers business card attached. Nothing else. He arrived in minutes to resolve the problem. This was after many calls. I looked up the list of affiliated companies. Bad seeds, all of them. Thanks for the heads up. Patti
Here's a response from Honeycreek's "customer care". Do you see any "customer care" in this email?
Thank you, however, as we have previously stated, we are not showing that we have received any correspondence from you at this time. If the information was sent to us on 5/20, we should have received this by now. You may want to contact your Post Office to see if they may be able to trace the package. We are sorry but until we have received your Original shipping label and letter, we are unable to make any type of adjustments.
Thank you,
Customer Care

This is the 14th time, I have documented this - please stop asking the same questions!!!!!!! I have also called every day for the past 2 weeks, with no help from your company.
1) The original label was mailed approximately May 20 2006.
2) In a letter, I asked for full replacement.
3) I have received no correspondence through mail.
4) Please ship me ASAP a replacement order - you have my credit card # and order on file
- 3 hibicus plants and 2 adams needles.
What more can I possibly say?
Larry
