Well, we have had storms all day, all night last night with more on the way. This is taken from my front door at 5:00 this evening. Usually you can't even hear this creek, let alone see it.
Keep your fingers crossed if it goes any higher it will back up into my basement

OT the rain today
We go through the exact same thing here. The creek is at the very back of our yard and usually we can't hear it at all and have to walk back there and look straight down to see it. The last time it flooded we could see it from the house. I know exactly how you feel and it is a very scary feeling. I hope it stops raining and you don't have any flooding. Too bad you can't send some rain to me. We desperately need it, as do so many others.
As the weather reports come in, my Ohio friends have been much on my mind! This seems to be a year for extremes, either drought or flood... too bad the rain distribution can't be evened out a bit.
Fingers crossed, prayers said.
Take care and be safe!
When we lived in Ohio we had a electric pump system
put in our basment to keep it dry and it worked great !
Saves the structure on the home.
Your in my thoughts and prayers.
And please send the rain here. We had thunder storms all week but the rain pasted us over each time and we got none :((
I know what you're going through. We received 7 inches of rain from Alberto in one day! We had quite a few roads and bridges under water. It reached the parking lot next to the store where I work. Take care, much prayer... Melissa
We got some needed rain yesterday morning and last night, but now we have several more inches forecasted, so I'm hoping it doesn't all arrive at once. I guess it's like that old saying, "when it rains, it pours!" LOL
Hope you woke to clear skies and a dry basement!
I knw what you mean. Don't you feel water logged. We don't live close to water this time but the basment is damp anyway. Pray no more rain for a while for you.
We havew flooded badly here 3 times in the 5 years we have been here. What you can't see in the picture, is that the creek is down my front steps, across the road, down another 3 feet and then about a football field away. We have never had water up to the road (close in 04) but what happens is, our gray water runs into the creek through a drain and when the creek reaches that height, it backs up through all the drains into the basements. We have had over 5 feet in our basement, and one neighbor actually had water to the basement ceiling.
If we get the house we are looking at, it doesn't get water in it, at all.... WOO HOO nothing ruined in the basement!
Hope those that need rain get it! If I could ship ours to you, I would :)
Huggers
Janis
