First is was back ordered until June..then July now end of august..so I cancelled it! In the meantime I am in dire need of more room for my plants!
Anyone have any suggestions on making a plant stand? Or where to look for a reasonably priced one!

Lorry -
I bought a shelving unit from Lowes and added my own "shop lites" with grow bulbs in them....the kind that hang from the little chains.
WORKS GREAT and total cost was maybe $75.

Check out Home Depots or Lowes. I have seen those very plant stands in those stores. Failing that, Costco has some large shelving/storage units on wheels that you can put together yourself and add all the shelves, or leave some off for taller plants. It worked great for me last winter when I needed a place for some 80 or so small plants I had outside & needed to bring in.

Lorry...are you wanting this to be Decorator Approved ...heh heh...for a front room or something....or used in a kitchen, back room, garage etc.? Terrific stands can be made (by Chris, of course) using lengths of gutters. HD has some of those shelving units...I use them in my GH and in the back of the house.... Look in Tools catalogues, and industrial supply places....

Chris - They aren't exactly beautiful, but I use commercial barker's racks I got at Sam's. I think it may be what Marcy is referring to. They're on wheels and you put them together with as much or little space between the shelves as you want. I have three in my GH and another on my back deck for when I put plants outside in summer. Here's the web address to a pic of the unit...

I pay $75 for the shelving units at Sam's. They're perfect if pretty isn't your #1 concern.

Yes, that is exactly what I was talking about. I got it at Costco for about the same price. (a bit less than they are asking on that website). It is quite a bit bigger than it appears so you must have a big space to set it.
I don't think it is meant for in the house, but I used it in a spare bedroom in front of a big window & it saved my butt when it came time to bring in plants last year. For the more decorator kind...try the box stores, Target, or Michaels, etc.
