Well it belongs to a friend of mine in Calgary and she was asking if I had a photo of it so I was looking for her.
Sorry Don! She was just here on Wednesday too.....had I know I could have asked her for a leaf...suppose I still could. So, if I do I would be happy to share it with you Don.

No I didn't! Darn it all...didn't even know she had it until she emailed me to ask me if I had any info and a photo of it. I can get one though....all I have to do is either wait till I go there or she comes here. Maybe she would mail me one even....I sure hope so because it is beautiful!

Hope you are feeling well Allison. I feel so good today....got ALL my watering done, even my cactii which have been neglected for some time.
I tried something different with my orchids today....I am sure it can't harm them. I always fill the kitchen sink with water, fertilizer, Pro-Tekt and this time I added a cup of pre-mixed Neem Oil (few drops of dish soap added to 1 litre of warm water and I mix that up and then add 1 tsp Neem Oil) A friend told me about this mixture...the dish soap really helps with the Neem Oil not separating.
I think this should work twofold....kill them gnats and keep the bugs away as well from my orchids.
I wonder if I dare try it on my violets? Maybe I will try it on a noid to see if it does any harm.

Well I best be off to get some housework done now that all my babies are fed and happy!
It is 90 on the deck this afternoon! Finally we got some heat! But that is a little too hot for me.

Hot here too, Joanne. 37 C this afternoon. (100 F) Watered my plants and then stayed by the air conditioner. LOL More to come this week, I understand.
Let me know if you are successful in getting leaves from your friend of "Accent".. I'll trade you leaves for it.

JoAnne, do you "dunk" your orchid pots to water them?
Neem oil is fine for Av's and gessie's I've used it on Begonias and more. They do recomend on bottle web sight to add dish soap but not the kind with degreeser in it.
I had a nice orchid my Aunt gave me in bloom . My Aunt is old and weird. Well she grows them well she told me when the basket was likght to sit it in the sink full of water . Worked well.
When it stopped blooming she came to my home one day and took it and said I had too many plants she was never giving me anymore. lol Really and she was nasty about it. But like I said she is late 80's works full time, run circles around people think's she is 50 and little crazy.
I finaly have no gnats..neem oil, yellow papers, trying to get all plants into Bayer 3 in one soil. After about a dozen bags and loving it can't find it . lol

Oh that is a funny story....people do get funny that way when they get older.
I haven't watered my violets with Neem yet so that should kill off them there gnats I would think.
It is so hot here today! I shouldn't complain because we haven't had much really nice weather.
How do you know which soap doesn't have degreaser in it I wonder?
