What are these? Red spiders?

This morning I found all of these little things on my plumeria's new leaf. Gathered close together on one baby leaf. I shooed them away and now they are on my jade all on one little leaf. Any idea what these are? If spiders, I assume that they are harmless. Are they something more sinister? Their behavior is not like anything I've seen before.

Looking again, I realize that they can't be spiders due to the number of legs, so I hit them with some spray soap. Any idea what they are?

kinda look like some sort of ant

They do look like ants but ive seen aphids like that too

Assassin bug nymphs. A predatory insect and generally considered beneficial.

I had to google this to realize that you weren't kidding. Thanks! From what I've just read they don't care about my plants but will feast on people.

And I'm a bit concerned about the fact that they generally live in rodents' nests!

Andidandi, are those on your plumies? That looks like a jade plant to me.

They're probably feasting on something, they prefer bug juice over plant juice.

Clare_CA -Yesterday morning I found them all over my plumie cutting's tiny new leaf, which hadn't even unfolded at that point. I thought that perhaps they were attracted to the sap or something. I scraped them off of the plumie with a piece of paper and they scattered. Hours later, I went outside and they were all grouped together on the jade leaf, that's when I took the photo. I couldn't figure out why they were grouping together, and were only on my plumeria, and only on the one leaf.

Hi Andidandi, Tom and Fly_girl are right. They won't hurt your plants.
