hopefull this will work this time
here the christmas morning violet, when i repotted it there was another one on side so i planted it up.
my new violet from my sister
Beautiful new plants! I love getting "bonus babies" in a pot!
Just as an FYI, I think the first one looks like a streptocarpus, which is more of an AV "cousin." I think the cultural requirements are similar, though, so it won't mind if you treat it like a violet. :-) I've seen pics of 'Christmas Morning' in bloom, and it's a beauty!
'Happy Cricket' is such a fun name, I had to go look for a photo in FC!

i was wondering if it needed a bigger pot, cause the pot was full of roots, and does it needs lots of light, and does it need more water. xmas morning is the first red one i have, now i want a yellow, and a black
Starfly, check the second sticky post at the top of the forum, and you'll find info on strep culture. I'm no help because the only strep I have is a single rooted leaf in a pot! :-)
ok thanks,
planted my first babys from leafs i grew this morning ,now my camera quit again. darn
Pretty flowers. I also have Christmas Morning and she is so beautiful. You have some nice plants there. Way to go.

Eunice Beautiful new plants !
Your Streptucarpus plant Christmas Morning ! Wonderful ! I have had this one a long time. I grow mine in pan pots. Low pots some people call them bulb pans. One thing important about Strep's is they like to be dry. If you over water them they will wilt and die. If they are dry and wilt water them they will come right back !
Your's could use a larger pot but like shallow. Their roots are shallow and they like them toward the top. How nice you have a baby , With Streps the do
have more crown no need to seperate but trim and cut
leaves. They do not bloom from the crown but from the leaf axels. A leaf will bloom so many times and stop so new foliage is always need for blooming with Streptocarpus plants.
They also like it cool. And grow good at end of light tube or natural light. All mine are in natural light.
Progated by leaves is very fast and easy.
Like Jill mentioned there is a lot of info in our second sticky .
Enjoy they are wonderful ! Here is a picture of mine !

oh wow, what a beautiful color, mine has 1 bloom on it,can,t wait to see it bloom. ok i will have to go somewhere and find me a low pot like that, how long does the leaves need to be.
i have printed out allmost all the stickey. all the url, have to stop far awhile ink is getting to me.
You can let the leaves grow as long and as short as you like. Rob's from Violet Barn says they have had pots of stubs blooming. They bloom for a long time like
Orchids. They are a lot of fun to grow ! Oh yes they are fun to grow in hanging baskets too :))
Oh they are so cute !
Eunice Igot pot order today from Bluebirds. I had been wanting ti try their cutie Pots . I think am going to like them better than Pan Pots. They are much different and nicer than teir picture shows.
I got a combo package of them to try couple of each size.

These pans are wonderful. When our local violet club first saw them they all wanted pans to bring home. At the time we didn't have pricing on them - but now we can offer a very attractive violet container at an affordable price. These durable terracotta color plastic pans will make any violet collection look good. Drainage holes in the bottom are ready to accept our Figidy Wicks for maintenance free violet gardening. Especially useful for Trailers and Episcias or plant into it like the container gardens at the National violet shows. Have your own violet container garden design! Pick up a few today and give it a try. Terracotta color with wick/drainage holes.
5 Cutie Pans (6 in) $4.99
10 Cutie Pans (6 in) $8.99
5 Cutie Pans (8 inch) $7.99
10 Cutie Pans (8 inch)$12.99
Mix and Match Cutie Pans!
Can't decide whether you need the 6 inch Cutie Pans or the 8 inch Cutie Pans??? Here's a deal for the indecisive - have it both ways! Get 3 of the smaller 6 inch pans and 3 of the larger 8 inch pans. You could always start out in the 6 inch size and move up to the 8 inch when that trailer or Episcia loves your growing environment and starts stretching out all over the lightstand.
Love your plants Eunice especially Christmas Morning! I hope they give you lots of blooms.
Eunice I potted up Angel Tears Trail in an 8 inch cutie pot today ! And also trans-planted one of my Chiritas into a 6 inch one and one into a 5 inch pan pot.
