How did your gardens fair after the storm?

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Hello all, Was just wondering how all was doing after the storms last night?

Here is a picture of our front where the neighbor was trying to fill in his low spots between us, We haven't had this much standing water in a long time, John really has his work cut out for him.

I can relate to all the rain we had a tornado come through here about 6 miles north of us. We got over 3 inches of rain according to local reports and I've still got puddles. Daylilies are sitting in mud again what a year. Power was out for almost 8 hours and still have several areas that are still out. Weather is suppose to be good all weekend and I'm taking the grandkids to the Toledo Zoo Saturday.

We got a lot of rain but no serious damage. A little south of us had golf ball sized hail.

blue, I hope it stays nice for the week end trip to the zoo, I am about 10 miles north of toledo's state line, Hope you and the grandbabies enjoy.

hemlady, I heard on the news about the golf size hail, Monroe got hit with hail but it wasn't quite as big from what everyone was says, just about quarter size.

According to the radar we were smack dab in the middle of the whole thing, I thought for sure my flowers were goners, but they are tough little bugers, lol I have only one flower that hit the ground, but it is bouncing right back up :)
The winds were really bad and I haven't seen it rain that hard in a while.

I planted some cornflowers and a different flower (can't remember the name right off hand) that morning behind our garage, they all are doing good.

I thought the last storms we had was bad.
Since our neighbor started filling in his side yard in the front, that is connected to ours,
Looks like were going to have a repeat problem from when we moved in 30 some odd years ago.
Hope my flower garden can servive.

When we moved in here 33 years ago, we had an ice skating pond during the winter.
From our mailbox at the road to where the chairs are sitting by the swing, from the tree next to the drive to past the neighbors drive, We gradually got the front filled in and now looks like a new problem is a rising. :o( DH said that all the water we have will soak into the ground pretty quick, but the last time it rained and water stood between our two yards it took about a week, it hasn't been that long ago.
Our neighbor just hauled in more dirt and filled in Sunday b4 it rained that afternoon.
And it stormed all night last night. Heavy Heavy Rains...

Water is standing right around the blocks we laid.
Do you all think my garden will servive???
Connie (Just call me worry wart) lol
