Yes, mam u r absolutely correct...........doncha just love how it will grow and thrive under any conditions...........

Fayetteville, NC(Zone 8a)

I look forward to it each year. It starts late summer and goes until after frost and it spreads, so it makes more and more of the more dead fall garden beautiful longer.

yes, I have given my friends starts, and it never fails, dig it in the middle of a heat wave or a flood........always works

Northern, AR(Zone 6b)

Eupatorium Coelestinum loves to grow along my river banks in late summer and so does the Cardinal flower, of which I really like.

now that foliage is different. is that one as hardy as the e. greggii?

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

i went back and looked at everyone's pictures. the one i have has different foliage. looks more like fern foliage.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

and..........mine is blooming now. this one doesn't bloom till late summer/fall, is that right?

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

mine is blooming now as well...but there are 2 different kinds.......I do native plants in my gardens mostly, but my girlfriend down the road had a landscaper put her gardens in and she has a mistflower on which the foliage is different .........the bloom is the same and it is blooming now

Northern, AR(Zone 6b)

Mamajack, I believe Eupatorium coelestinum is hardy in zones 6 through 10, quite possibly in Zone 5 as well.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

so the coelestinum is MORE hardy than the greggii? jackie i don't know if i have anything you would like. i do have this tall white ruellia if you don't have that. i would like to have some of this plant if you have any left.

Texas/Okla central b, United States(Zone 7b)

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

I have no idea which I have. The nursery people only told me that it was called "Mist Flower". It doesn't bloom until at least August or September.

That red cardinal flower is a lovely color contrast.
