Voodoo Bulbs ?

Shelbyville, TX(Zone 8b)

A friend gave me some bulbs last year... I planted them in ground shallow... They have come up with some very neat foliage/stem... No bloom..
I was told they would not bloom if covered/buried...Does anyone know more about these? The are not Drac. Vulg. I have those and they bloom in the ground... Not sure which ones these are...
Thanks for any help...

You will know it when they bloom as they smell like *&^%$$ and the ants and flys are bad. But they are great conversation starters. LOL
I saw some at Plants Delight Nursey.
Very Interesting plant.

I think your friend has told you wrongly about the "Voodoo bulb", whichever one you have. They will bloom regardless of depth (within reason of course) as they do in nature and your bulb was probably just too young to bloom or perhaps bloomed last year.

I have Typhonium venosum (AKA Sauromatum guttatum, etc.) and they sometimes skip a year after they bloom. I had three bloom last year and only one of them bloomed this year.

Robert.
