I could not get a profile picture on this one so this is all I have - looks like the wasp family? Anyone know what this is?
TIA,

CLOSED: what is this insect?
This is either some type of mud dauber or a paper wasp, though I think a mud dauber.

thanks gregr18 - armed with "paper wasp" I did some searches and found http://www.pbase.com/lejun/bees_and_flys
I found the potter wasp and the mason wasp - this is an incredible site for identification - beautiful photos - and did more searching on the mason wasp
http://bugguide.net/node/view/249/bgpage and I think this is it!
Thanks very much,
Sterling
