It came without a tag about 1 year ago. The color is acurate in the pic.
Thanks,
Debbie
Which philo is this??
Both of your plants are beautiful; red_princess_71, baja220. Prince of Orange is on my wish-list!!LOL
I don't know Char, yours looks alot more orange than mine if your pic has accurate color. Yours is really pretty!!!
Debbie
I agree, both beautiful!!
Yours could also be P. 'autumn'....the leaves emerge very 'orangey', but mature to a deep green.
How to tell the difference, though....I don't know!
my thoughts were prince of orange , however good point on the autumn. I haven't notice mine have that much orange, however lighting could change that.
That's so true!
Amazing how lighting can change not only the color, but the shape of many Philo leaves, as well.
I don't have either one of those (had Autumn at one time....no more) so those of you that actually own one are more qualified to help ID.
I have both, will have to put side by side to night and see what I can tell about them.
I just bought an Orange Prince at Lows yesterday. I'll take a pic when it gets light and post it a little later. And what's the difference between Orange Prince and Prince of Orange?
snboyken, did you do the side by side thing yet?
Debbie
No I haven't will try to tonight, may take home the digitial camera from work and get a snap shot of them side by side for all to see.
This is what I found on P. 'autumn':
A hybrid, self-heading Philodendron very similar to 'Prince of Orange'. The elliptical leaves are an attractive reddish orange when immature and turn olive green as they age. Requires high interior light levels to maintain color and continued growth.
And this on P. 'Prince of Orange':
A patented, self-heading Philodendron hybrid with elliptical leaves. Immature leaves are orange. Requires high interior light levels to maintain color and continued growth.
So, shoot....who knows?
They don't have 'Orange Prince' listed (at least where I searched) so I think that may be just another common name for 'Prince of Orange'.
To heck with the Philos.....I *love* your lamp!!!! LOL!
Is it *real* stained glass?
The mature leaves on the OP are staying a lighter green than the bigger one and has more color on the base of the plant.
Thanks for the compliment Nan!! I have quite a collection of stained glass lamps, I love them!! Most have a dragonfly or spiderweb design. They are very real.
Debbie
Oh, lucky you....now *there's* something I'd love to collect!
So do you think your first one might be 'Autumn'?
I had that one once, and the reason they call it 'Autumn', I was told, is because it will have leaves in various shades of green and orange at the same time.
I just repotted my Orange Prince and the roots are orange!! Just thought that was cool. LOL
Nan, I think the first one is Autumn. At least really close. Oh, I've been trying to get pics of my lamps for you to see. It's hard to get good shots. I'll try some more tho.
Debbie
Stilll trying to get a camera to take a pic, I repotted them last Thursday and my roots are orangish o the Prince of Orange.
Gonna have to buy me a digital camera.
