My Mother has four astilbe plants that she received in a plant order. They started out looking real good and healthy. They are planted in a shade garden with just a little filtered sun. Now they don't look good at all. Not dead but very sad looking. Can you tell me the growing requirements for these plants here in our hot zone 8b. Could be they just don't like the Tx heat. ? Do they like to stay moist? My Mother doesn't water regularly and sometimes she over waters to compensate. :(
