Well, it seems that everything's timing is juuuuust a bit off. Yesterday was my birthday, and everything was bare. Not a bloom to be found anywhere. Today, however, everything's popping...
My first Sun Showers bloom!
A good day in the garden...
Tess every thing looks beautiful!!!
(Is that a real gator?)
I wondered the same thing. The girls I watch say no. Beautiful hibiscus!
Nah, he's not real. He's about 14 inches long and somehow floaty-jointed at head and tail, so he floats along and wraps himself around this or that. Someone told me that he'd keep the frogs out, and it seems to have worked somewhat.
He looks even better when he's a little shaded...you really might think he's the real thing!
Happy Birthday TessC.
Gorgeous Blooms.

Beautiful Tess & Happy Birthday!!!
Happy belated birthday Tess. I love the gator too. Do you think he would scare raccoons - my personal nemesis (es)?
Your hibiscus are always beautiful and so is your water lily. I am so jealous; we have always had a garden pond and this is the first house with no pond because of the hated raccoons. They insist on washing their oysters in any body of water I have out there. a
You know, they might just have something for you- I'll have to fish him out and see if the manufacture's info is on there- they make several different creatures, so who knows? We can at least check, right? :)
Thanks for the tip, Carlos; kind of ironic that there's a similar discussion going on on the board now, but I'll have to see who sold it to me. It was about a year ago, from eBay. Wouldn't it be funny (har har) if it were the same seller? Don't get me wrong...it's a good preformer and constantly has blooms, so I'm happy with it. I just can't stand the idea of somebody selling something that's not what it's supposed to be.
Too bad they do not make something that would scare the gophers. So far they are staying away from my hibiscus but have pretty much destroyed evertything else.
Happy belated Birthday Tess!!!!
Sun Showers is so beautiful. Can't wait for mine to finish recovering and take off. I don't believe I ever got to see it bloom last summer
Very lovely Tess, and happy belated birthday.
