Yep, it finally happened...after weeks and weeks of seeing Y's where none existed...I really do have one! It is at the top of my brug like they are supposed to be. And, I found a wacky whompas leaf, but it had been munched by grasshoppers so I couldn't PROVE it was wacky whompas and not just wacky chompas. Yep...I'm doing the happy brug dance...and trying like all get out to keep them from wilting despite the drought...
How cool is that? And you have buds too. Congratulations!! You will be surprised how fast these buds grow.

I have two, but this is the only one making a Y so far. I thought taht was a tiny bud...but I kept seeign Ys where none existed...so I was afraid I was seeing a bud where none existed as well.

I was out watering them this evenign and the other brug still hasn't mad the 'Y'...but the one with the Y on it, now has another 'Y' on the opposite side. It branches out from the stem and makes two main branches.,..then it has a Y at the top of each branch. Happy happy, joy joy!
It truly is delightful seeing those first tiny buds.
Especially when it is your 'first born'...LOL! Maybe when it blooms I"ll pass out cigars...bubble gum of course.....
