Hi dear fellow gardeners. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. My once shady front yard suddenly became sunny after I had to remove a diseased Sugar Maple. Now a previously sunny, curved 20' x 12' area that has been home to Gold Standard hosta, orther hosta, & Sweet Woodruff look very unhappy & I believe I will need to transplant them to the north side o my home.
I'm asking if anyone has any ideas for some light or bright perennials that would work in this sunny spot with heavy clay soil. My Chicago suburban tri-level home is also sided in cedar planks and has a bit of a dark, rustic feel, so I'm going for an informal woodland look. Any ideas for "curb appeal worthy" front walkway perennials?
Thanks,
Dionne
