Luv them variegated alocasias

This is alocasia odora aureo variegata they love the hot humid weather here in summer. These seem to have more splashes this year than last.

rylaff I'm with you, another one to add to my list. I have been wanting a Mickey Mouse and finally I have one on the way. I am starting to get a few. I just hope my little GH will be able to hold them all this winter.

That's a really neat plant.....love the variation of color on the leaves. I'm new to DG...so I haven't seen your other plants, but am enjoying it all.

I found one on EBay but it looks like my Alocasia macrorhiza 'Variegata'. Someone else needs to look at it and see what you think. Just type in alocasia odora aureo variegata in the search box and it will come up.

i just got a variegated alocasia in the mail the other day and i'm still undecided as to where i'm going to put it. can these take full sun? what about milky way?

I grow the variegated ones in half day sun..usually morning sun.afternoon shade.

The white variegated macro will take more sun than the 'Milky Way'.
I found out the hard way.....the thinner the leaf the more delicate the variegation.

Hmm... My milky was is in full sun. Guess I didn't know any better and planted it there last year. It survived hurricane winds, salt water, and no water for 3 weeks.
Ric, I still have milky way with your name on it.
