I just built an arbor and planted Confederate Jasmine on either side. I have a clematis (I think the name is Barbara Jackman) that I love and would like to plant the same or similar clematis on either side of the arbor along with the jasmine. That way I'll get a show of color in the spring and also all summer. What clematis do you pros recommend? I'd like to have purple (not too dark and not too light) with nice size flowers. Secondly, where do you recommend on line that I can purchase decent size plants (I'm such an "instant gratification" person. LOL)
Thanks for your help,
Barbara
Edited to say: Just read some other threads and saw that someone had posted pics of Barbara Jackman and Jackmanii. If those pics are correct then mine was mislabeled and is actually a Jackmanii. Looks like the Barbara Jackman goes more towards pink and stripes hwereas mine is purple and looks like the one posted as a Jackmanii. Mine must be a Jackmanii since it is blooming now (still a baby) and that would make it a Group 3, which is what I want for timing. Am I correct in all this? Thanks again.

Need clematis recommendation from you pros
If you like "instant gratification", the largest size Clematis plants with the biggest root balls are from Silver Star Vinery. http://www.clematisdebbie.com/
Also, check out Chalk Hill Clematis Nursery, http://www.chalkhillclematis.com/menu.html
Or Garden Crossings http://www.gardencrossings.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/home.home/index.htm
Thanks, Shirley. I emailed Debbie at Silver Star Vinery to get her suggestions. I'll purchase from her if she responds. All were good sites.
Shirley,
Debbie has been fantastic with her help! Not only was her web site so helpful, she responded right away to my questions and made great suggestions. She even asked for a photo of the arbor to assist her in making suggestions! Today she mailed out my 2 Dorothy Walton (Bagatelle) clematis. I think her prices for the plants and shipping were VERY resonable. Thanks again for your help in directing me to her web site.
Barbara
