How long did it take, Laurie? I have had leaves set now since April 21, and I still don't see anything. sigh...

Don

P.S. congrats!

Hey Don, Thanks...I put them down on March 31 and had to repot them all about a month later, LOL after my cat tossed them on the floor.

I think the earliest is about 5 to 6 week. They can take as long as they take.

Way to go. I just had another baby pop up, yesterday. Sure is fun!

Wonderful babies Lauri! Congraulations !
Most leaves do take 4-6 weeks to root and even up to 16 weeks for babies
I have had some take less tiime and some take longer. I keep mine with Mom for a long time. Most I am trans-planting from Mom now were put down the end of Feb ...March maybe even some Aprils. BUT this is a good time of the year to grow babies !
I have had babies with Mom even 6-9 months before I felt them large enough. I do trans-plant them if it has been longer than 4 months or if they look like they are crowded . They love fresh soil/new pot/cup just like all Av's like trans-planting !
Don soon to begin July you shall start seeing babies ! They are forming under neath and when they start popping up they just kee on growing !

Violet ban " Rob' Says ~ We've found that plantlets can be removed from the mother leaf and individually potted anywhere from 3 to 5 months from the date the leaf was first put down. ~
I say this is so true and sometimes loger ~

I say most the time when you get a baby from me it has been cared for at least 9 months from the time I put the leaf down !

Congratulations, Lauri! Isn't it just great? They look beautiful...especially the little ones with variegation :)

Don, Hang in there. I thought the first leaves would never show up. I finally took many out of the soil and LOOKED, 'cause I couldn't stand it! Sure enough, I found roots on all and babies on some. Then I repotted them with frest soil and waited some more. But once the first leaves gives forth, all the rest can't be far behind!!

Congratulations! I love seeing those babies just peeping thru the soil
Chin up, Don! You'll see babies soon! I put down my first leaves on January 13. From that batch alone - I saw my first babies 6 weeks to the day later, had a few more that just popped up last week and 3 or 4 Mom leaves that are still healthy as can be, but no babies yet. (I find it helps if you check on them less than 50 times per day! ROFL)
