Oh yes, very nice.

That's really pretty! Do you de-eye your caladiums? It sounds like a lot of trouble, wonder if it's worth it?

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

What do you mean, de-eye them? Kaleem, the guy who owns the nursery (www.asiaticanursery.com/) collects & propagates in Thailand.

Removing some of the eyes supposedly makes them bushier. I know it sounds cruel.

Can you start another plant from the eye>? Where is the eye? In the middle of the bulb? I am curious (but not going to try that right now)

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

It's scooping out the dominat bud or eye, cut the sprout 1/4" above the tuber and penetrate the eye with a hobby knife. You have to stay within the diameter of the eye to eliminate damage to the small eyes around the main eye. Make sure you go deep, at least 1/2 ", to where the meat of the tuber turns yellow. De-eying will delay forcing, but will make a fuller plant. It sounds like Lasik. I bet growers do this.

Can you start another plant from the eye? I'm still learning.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

I don't think so, it's probably pretty mutilated. You could try though.

Think I'll wait. LOL. I'll have to look up propagation but I am certain it is by dividing.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Wow, that one is stunning.
