We grow mangos here in florida. You should move it away from the house, but, I have not found the roots not to be a problem if you keep it 5 feet from pavement. They do shed a lot of leave throughout the year, much like avacado. The growers with groves here keep their trees pruned to about 12-14 feet and they produce more fruit. Pruning them until mid Aug is normal here, but in the springs area they may not have as long a growing season. Keeping them low and bushy yeilds the best results here.
