Your pictures are beautiful!

I can't wait until all the hedychiums and curcumas that I planted start to bloom. They are all up and growing well.I just bought a digital camera and by the time they start to bloom I hope that I can take some good photos.

Thank you Nancy. I am always running around with my digital camera. My husband is always reminding there are other things to do at the nursery aside from photographing all my floers and critters, ohh really? :)
Barb your Hedychium is gardnerianum. It will like some morning sun and dappled light in the afternoon.
Keep watered but not soggy and fertilize.
Here's a picture of Gardnerianum

Liz, thanx for your kind offer. I don't have much memory on my computer
though, so don't think I can handle a large file of pics. I'm wanting to
purchase my 1st digital but worried that with my lack ofspace on the hard drive or the lack of memory (notcomputer literate), I won't be able
to share photos here at Daves.
I will just continue to enjoy your lovely pics as you send them.

Hi Jackie,
I sent you the photo album before I read this thread :) You might still be able to look at it as you don't have to save it and when you open it, it doesn't upload anything to you like a regular pic attachment does.
Let me know if you're able to view it. The care sheets were in a separate email.

Hi downscale,
Which on eof the thai series is yours? I received a few rhizhomes of different ones earlier this year. One has inflorescence forming but haven't had any bloom yet. My Dr. Moy are going like crazy, they've been blooming here for about 3-4 weeks, you will love it.

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know which one it is (I didn't make tags). The flowers were fablulous but only lasted less than a week.

Did you live in South Florida? After 15 years of living there I don't miss it at all.it is way too crowded for my taste.I did like the cultural diversity but I like to live in more laid back places.

Viera, FL(Zone 9b)

I did live in south Florida, but I lived there before the overcrowding go to the extent it is now. When I was a kid Coral Springs was dairy cows and a lot of the Pompano area was bean fields and tomato fields. I lived most of my chilhood in what was a little town named 'Margate'. We had woods, canals to fish and swim at, and rock pits to sneak off to and go swimming when we were stoned out teenagers :). It was nothing like it is now and I was born in '61 so it wasn't back in the 'dinosaur' days..lol, as we used to say to my mom who grew up in Hollywood and went to McArthur High School, she was born in '42.
i do like the laid back feeling here in Ocala but, I miss the beach, the deli, being able to walk to the store, etc.. and I miss my warm winters, hate the cold, if it's below 75 degrees I'm cold :)
Where in xouth Florida did you live?

We lived in Hollywood Lakes. It is one of the oldest or oldest parts of Hollywood.I loved that neighborhood. It was a mixture of old and newer houses (1920's versus 1950's) some very grand on the water and some very simple. Also a mix of people.Alas it went "upscale " on us.I am not a very upscale person.Even in the early 80's when we came, there were load of cows and agriculture.I was born the same year as your mom.McAuthur High has a very good horticultural program. My mother lived in Coconut Creek until last year when I brought her up here. That is near Margate where you grew up.
