I bought this from Debbie this year. I have it in a pot because I haven't had time to dig a new space for it. The flowers on this one are just stunning and look better than even in all the pictures. I can't wait till next year.

More Clematis Pics WIth My New Camera
Beautiful..How about showing us more of your beautiful gardens...with your new camera...How many clems do you have???
Old , established, I have the two Jackmaniis, two Nelly Mosers and a Miss Bateman. I had to replace one last year with Belle of Woking. It seems to be doing well this year and is on the opposite side of the garage. I'm too embarassed to tell you how many new Clematis I bought this year, but I believe, when all is said and done, I will have 23 in total.
Here's a pic of the back of the garage. Belle is on the left and Jackmanii is on the right. The two trellis' are just resting there. They will be going on the north side of the house where I am planting Warsaw Nike, 2 Pope John Paul IIs and 2 Will Goodwins. I was fooling around with the enhancement package so that's why it is so dark on the edges.
This is along the south side of the house where I have Ruutel, Candida, Gravetye Beauty, Konigskind and Blue Angel planted. I took this picture this morning of my Madonna Lily. I think, so far, this is the best picture I've taken. Most of the ones I've taken are really bad. I think there's going to be quite a learning curve here.
Your Clematis look beautiful! I really like how you have 'Belle of Woking' & 'Jackmanii' climbing up the back of your garage. What type of trellis work to you have them growing on? Is the top attached to the roof of the garage and the bottom anchored in the soil?
The rest of your garden is lookin' good too! The picture of your Madonna Lily came out great!
Hi Shirley, thanks for the compliments. Those trellis came with the house when I bought it 10 years ago. I wish I knew where they came from because they really are nice. They attach to the roof of the garage (or maybe the eave edge) and then hang loose. I added the garden stakes for stability and just weaved it in and out of the links. I've often wondered if the material was made for another purpose and someone just got the bright idea of using it for a trellis. If that's the case, then maybe somewhere it could be found. I just can't think of what else it may have been used for, so I don't know where to start looking.
Where Belle is, there use to be another clematis (sorry don't know the name). It was really beautiful. It use to go up over the roof of the garage. A few years ago it started to decline. Last summer it only put out one vine. I did everything I could think of to save it, but I finally decided to put both of us out of our misery and I dug it out. I really think it was old age. I'm guessing it was probably close to 20 years old.
