This lovely tulip shaped Clematis is climbing up my mailbox post.
Clematis, texensis 'Lady Bird Johnson'
Shirley, that's gorgeous. I'm partial to the bell or
tulip shaped flowers.
Jackie
Thanks Jackie! You and me both! I also love the small bell & tulip shaped Clematis flowers for their simple elegance. There is so much diversity and beautiful colors in Clematis and it's hard not to want them all!!
That is the prettiest one I have seen this year. The shape is darling, like little fairy skirts. :~)
I like that one too..reminds me of Princess Di that I got from Debbie...
I motion to have Shirley put those beautiful pictures in PF!
Thanks so much!! "Fairy skirts" is a good way to describe the flowers!
Loretta: "Princess Diana" is also a texensis. Therefore the similarity in shape. "Princess Di" is pinker, like watermelon. "Lady Bird J's" color reminds me of beets.
Thanks Kenton! I put the 1st picture in PF's. I'm going to see if I can take a better picture of their "faces" tomorrow.
Shirley, Your lady bird Johnson clematis is really lovely. Another to add to my wish list.
Gorgeous color. What a great one!
