Poor baby! What can I do to help this brug? Is it sunburned or just HOT? Gets sun up till about 1:00 then shade and I don't have any better shade to put it in. Would some iron or more fertilizer help it cope?
Is this from the hot sun?
Looks like it just gets too dry and feeding it something will not make the damaged leaves revert to green. The young leaves seem to be OK then start to yellow.
is it in a pot ?
It looks TO ME like it is and really needs to be potted UP , trim the roots and use good fresh potting mix.
If the pot is so full of roots it will not thrive and you can never water it enough because there is NO room for water in all the roots so tightly bound.
Then make a tonic by dissolving a B vitamin tab in a gal of water with tea tree oil, peroxide and fish emulsion to help it get thru the transplant..
If it is not in a pot ........ LMK
You may need to dig it up to see what the root area is doing. The entire plant depends on a heathy root system.

Scooter,
It's in the ground, as almost all my brugs are. Most of them are looking a little yellow at the tips of the more mature leaves. I had my first flush on them and all looked great. I'm really thinking it could be just our heat and sun here. The ones that get less sun don't seem to be suffering like these.
'B', I'm in your zone, in southeast Arky, and I'm having the same problem with with some brugs, not all. I will say that it seems to be on this year's cuttings only, so you might be right Scoot. Until yesterday, we've had zero rain and I've had to water more than ever before. I'm going to try some micro mix and see if that will help, could be all the nutriments are being wahsed away with all the watering. My sun has been unusually hot, I lost a tree in the problem area, add that to very hot/dry/humidid, maybe it's just going to take the new cuttings some extra time to get settled in....any other suggestions will be sincerely appreciated. If there is another thread that addresses this problem, please direct me...
BDunn, if you should hear anything about this privately, please let me know. Each plant I have with the yellow rims, leaves, was in the bubbler all winter and I was late getting them out. Again, thanks...

Good thoughts, Sherry. Even though they don't wilt and their on a drip system (which I supplement due to lack of rain), maybe they do need more water. Also, the ones I'm having more trouble with are the ones that were new cuttings this year. But they are also the ones in similar sites with regard to sun. Our soil is virtually sand so maybe I will try pouring on more water. Thanks.
I'm having the same problem here and was wondering if it could be from the chemicals in our water. I'm using water straight from the hose. Otherwise, I have to carry it around to the brugs and it's too hot for that. I'm using the siphon ject for adding fertilizer and extra micros. Guess I better get out there and start watering. Like Sherry, we have had zero rain. Bone dry and very crispy out there. The brugs don't look good when surrounded by brown grass.
Hmmm........I don't think mine is the chemicals since I had been using well water for the drip. It has a little iron in it (not too much), but I've just added one of those containers that take the iron out of the well water. Had to do it since the iron in the well water was really starting to discolor the patio and walks. The supplemental hand water is regular "city" water.
Lots of nice blooms there. I wonder what it will be like by the end of the summer...maybe a Guiness Book of World Records, brug.
For me, every garden season is totally different. Of all years, this DRY year has produced more blooms than i've ever had, I've had brugs, in the ground, blooming, since early spring. I don't get it, but I love it...and, shhhh, I'm whispering, no bugs, mildew, fungus, I'm loving every minute!! It is so hot here that the humidity is lower and, I gotta tell ya, I can do hot way better without the smothering humidity...
WOWZERS, Moodene, your brugs are awesome!!!
Thanks..those two brugs are 3 years old..
last week we had a hi 90s spell and two of my brugs planted in ground lost a lot of leaves. It has a bunch of new leaves. is that normal? what should I do? I didn't have yellow leaves as BDunn. More of: on day I had a lot of leaves, the next day, I didn't.
Oh Barbara, I do not have a clue. It looks like it is just happening to the big, older leaves?? Maybe the brug is getting ready to shed them.
Nadine yours are looking so good. You lucky duck! Does Daisymae sit under there in the evening? I bet the fragrance is so strong.
Sherry, I wish you would post a few pics of all your blooms. I do not think I have seen any of your garden this year.
Thanks, Kell! Amazingly, I've had blooms all season, but haven't made any pics that I can remember. I totally tore up my garden today, after being in Jackson for the past 3 nights. Poor Jackson is about to burn up. The drought seems to effect the city more than the country, cement, I guess. I love, love, love your state but it would be difficult for me in the areas that rain is scarce, there is something so comforting about thunderstorms during the gardening season that just does something for my spirit, and we had a nice one yesterday. Of course I prefer the rains without hail and high wind, both of which have been a problem this year. Several of your seedlings will have their third flushes when they bloom again, that is, seedlings that wintered in the ground, really nice, green, happy girls, no yellow on them. Seems to be mainly first season in the ground brugs, that were put in the ground late...today, I'm moving my fountain, quick breaks to type a little and drink more water, whew, I'm totally wringing wet...
I have some seedlings growing on the South facing side wall of my house that look like that. I know it is from the reflected sun off the wall since I have no tree's or shrubs to protect it. I had the same thing last year until the seedlings got mature.
Well lady, get out there and take some pictures!!
I wish we had rain too, none at all from May to November. I get so sick of watering. Just everyday is warm and sunny. A pretty constant 74 degrees or so. It is so tough.
