That looks good! What did you use to do the ring?

Be sure to remember to cut holes in the ring to allow for air circulation. This is very important.

Anna,Its a styraform paper plate.Theres a thread on here somewhere about it.I'll try to find it.

Nanna,Thank you I didn't know about the holes.

It seems to work well but it takes up alot of space.

Hi Jannich!

Very clever! Beautiful symmetry too!

Nan....what do you mean by putting holes in the paper plate? I have mine under the lip of the pot so the top of the pot can breathe. Is that so the leaves can breathe as well?

That looks great! Beautiful plant too.

Glad you tried it...it's a lot cheaper than the "real" ones, but I haven't found a way to make one large enough for my 15 & 16 inchers yet. I can't find paper plates that large.

Well done!

Ms C could probably explain better. If the leaves lay on the plate constantly the don't get to breath from beneath. If you have say diamond patterns cut aroung the lip of the plate the air from beneath can touch the bottom of the leaves.

Things are hectic today. I'll try to post a picture, but I think I explained it OK.

Excellent Jan ! WOW look at your plant grow. She will grow and flower better now and her flowers are so pretty ! I can't wait to see them. They do take up more room but it's really better for the plants as they are like us they like room and space to grow and breath and be happy so this is good !
You sure can grow them !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I noticed pictures MsC posted did not have slotes like the plastic one. As the soil, roots, foliage , all of the plant needs to breath I was thinkin ?

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Thanks everyone! I really do like this idea and will put the holes in it today.MS C so good to see you posting again.Thats a great idea you shared with us.And on my income its just right,LOL

Allison,Thank you,I have a question for you please,The last row of leaves resting on the plate is smaller than the next row.Did I read somewhere that I should remove thoughs?

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

If they don't look right I remove them. If not I keep them they grow . This is just what I do works good for me. Your plant is wonderful !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Jan a look again your plant looks perfect. If those leaves are healthy keep them well I would keep them. You don't want your plant to be leggy and too thinned out like a lot of mine look from sharing leaves. lol

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Ok thanks for the advice.I needed it.lol

i sent you d-mail:)
