Drool! Love the polka dots

I know, it's really pretty- more of a close up plant, but then I planted it because I like it. You can't see the detail from a distance.

Beautiful lily, aprilwillis. I have lillies along the front and side of my house, and they're just starting to open, but I've never seen one like that. The color is so vivid, and I love the dots.

Lovely! I tried to wintersow some seeds for them this year, but no luck. Wouldn't they be stunning planted among purple irises?!

I wanted to share a bloom here too that I posted yesterday on the DL forum.... I started some daylilies from seed (shared by the wonderful Poppysue) last spring and was so pleased when most of them came up this spring. And now they are starting to bloom! This is my first ever bloom on a daylily from seed. I'm so proud!

what beautiful flowers!

I kept tossing the seed pods behind some shrubs and suddenly I had lots of babies- not sure how long from seed to bloom though.

I was out weeding in the lily bed just now and pulled up what I thought was a weedling only to discover it was in fact a seedling with a teeny lily bulb at the bottom! This is going to be tricky, as it looks very much like a scrubby weed seedling that I get in my gardens that can be hard to remove once it gets going. Maybe I'll just replant anything that comes up with a bulb attached!
