I missed them too for many years, only had mine for a few years and my daughter introduced me.

Mine are blooming too--super easy from seeds.

Aren't they pretty? Is this about the right time or a bit early?

I think about July 1 last year--I had only a few bloom last year. I winter sowed the seeds, had the first round of growth nipped by frost, potted them up and starting bring them in on cold nights. They were definitely under stress last summer--so I don't know if its normal or not.

I was thinking of mixing them in with my mixed bed of LA iris' and daylillies for some summer interest. They are rather delicate looking aren't they compared to like tiger lillies. But I like those too.

I think that would be a great mix! Last year was the 1st mind bloomed and it was amazing, this year looks to be less so, but we will see. I really love most lilies, my only complaint is that so many bloom once and then are done for the season- you idea of planting together would rather solve that as they would be blooming at different times! Good idea Deb.

Going off topic here--have any neighbors, fields, etc where you've seen any of those old fashioned tiger lillies bloom? I'd love to have some but not pay for them. I also want some easter lillies...they bloom in May here and I think are pretty and nice and tall. I get them one year, many years ago, when they would put them dirt cheap after Easter. I didn't know that much then so I killed them the 3rd season. Now I never see them cheap or else I'm not looking in the right place.

No tiger lilies here, but would also like them, they are pretty!
