Macrophylla gone wild

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I started this from a cutting in 2002, and it's grown like wildfire, but it still hasn't bloomed .......yet:-). I'm going to show it to my slow growin cuttings, and hopefully they will want to grow big and strong like it!

Blessings,
Awanda

Great growing Awanda!! What a healthy fella you've got there. If that doesn't inspire your cuttings nothing will.

My H. macrophylla has been blooming for sometime now...and it is like H. polystachya with clumps of peduncles. The flowers don't all open at the same time...but are lovely when they do...

Both of your plants are, as usual, FABULOUS!!

Very nice flowas Carol, it would be a surprise if any of your hoyas weren't in bloom! With this dry hot Arizona weather it's always a joyful surprise for me when any of my hoyas bloom!

Yet another hoya to covet.....sigh

Great looking plant Awanda, and beautiful flowers Carol. Do you keep it in the greenhouse Awanda? Carol that is really amazing how all those peduncles are comming out all in the same place. I have never seen that befor, is it common for this hoya to do that? It is way cool.

I don't have macrophylla, but my polystachya has a mess of peduncles all over the plant. Peduncles growing out from the same place and sometimes on other peduncles... Here's a part of it.

I sent the photo of my H. macrophylla from David Liddle back to David to confirm it is indeed H. macrophylla and he said yes....he also said that the multiple peduncles (rachis) alone do not determine the difference between the two.... I love how the leaves get reddish and so shiney!!

Oh my gosh I have never seen this befor, and it is really cool. Looks like a mini peduncle pile up. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, Christina that is a cool peduncle grouping on your polystachya .
Show us pictures when they are blooming (I'll bet it looks like a fireworks display)
