Hummer on Nest

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

My sister was sitting on her couch watching this hummer at the feeder and watched it fly right to its nest. Hubby got this picture with his Sony H1 camera.

Great photo!!!

Dratted hummies out here build their nests way up high in the oak trees and I can never find them :o)

This one had to be 10-12 feet off the ground easily. DH had a hard time finding him but when he did it was good.

I am continually amazed by how carefully made hummingbird nests are.

That is so precious. I have been watching mine today eating at the feeder. There is nothing in the bird world cuter.

Makshi, that's for sure, we have a family compitition for the first hummer. Who ever sees the first one in the spring calls everyone up humming!!! We all know what it means.
