Ok as if two dogs were not enough :) I ended up with one more!
He is 11 weeks old, his name is taz and he is a shih tzu :)
I just HAD to have him :)
I got him from a client's mom :) Her dog had pups and this one was so smart and followed me everywhere :)
Sly (my chow/lab mix) is just madly in love with him :)

shih tsu's are such great dogs. We had one while the kids were growing up. We had her for 10 years. Her name was tati. Sweet, loving, gently, quiet, The best dog.
My two meat heads love her :)
Carly (the rot mix) was afraid of her for a while but has become acclimated to her.
Sly (the chow/lab) thinks he is daddy and keeps a very close eye on him :)

nan..that is good to hear. :) I have heard mixed reviews on them..They say they can be head strong, hard to train and sometimes nippy..but this guy doesn't seem like any of those things.
He is 11 weeks old and only had one accident on the floor...He seems pretty much trained already :)
Then again he wants to do everything the big dogs do so he is learning from them :)
Tati grew up with 7 kids and never bit or grawled once. She responded to come, sit. stay. and she always sat by the back door when she needed to go out. She was such a part of the family that we wept for days when she died. She is buried in our back yard along with sendry birds, hampsters, and gold fish. We dearly loved her.
Lorry I have never had one, but I heard only good things about them- loyal, loving, gentle- right along the same lines as Nanna- actually I have heard they are good w/ kids- which does surprise me a bit- many small dogs don't seem to be suited to kids. I think he will make a wonderful companion- although I have heard that they really are a lap dog, as in, wanting to be in yours constantly!
Tati had two liters fo pups and we shared with the entire neighborhood because she was known to be very gentle.

Oh my...that puppy is SO cute!!! I was telling my hubby and he said "we can't get another dog" ~rofl~ We already have four...and you are on your way!!! But that puppy is irresistable!!

By coincidence, 2 of our neighbors have Shih Tzu dogs, and our soon to be moving in new next door neighbor has one too! It's the dog to have on this cul-de-sac, I guess! But I think we're still considering a black lab somewhere down the road, LOL.
lorry you couldn't of found a cuter puppy! how precious!!! my dearest friend has a shih tuz named Josie. she is the sweetest dog! april is right they are lap dogs. josie sits on my friends foot rest on her lazy boy every time she sits in it lol. her dog is great with kids and never bitten anyone. i think hubby was right to let you have this beautiful puppy! congrats!!!!!! the picture made me smile : ) now you will have to show us pictures and keep us updated as it grows.

Just the sweetest little thing! It's addorable that you can hardly see his eyes. Critter, labs are awesome companions! We have a black lab, our brother-in-law has a chocolate and we had two litters of puppies. Great dogs!

Critter..I think the breed has become QUITE popular lately :) Probably because they are sweet and small :)
I have a lab mix and I would totally suggest them :) Mine is just adorable and protects the house. He now has also taken the puppy on as a creature to take care of :)
I will definitely do that Kelly :) And yes...Chris has fallen truly in love too :) He does seem to want to be with us all the time :) But doesn't demand to be in your lap (at least not yet!)

Oh my goodness, what an adorable little fluff ball! LOL I love that little explosion of hair around a shih tzu's nose. It looks like they're always in mid-sneeze! LOL Give him a big hug for me!
We've got three dogs - two 50 pound lap dogs, and a 9 pound attack dog, and one 17 year old cat. My son wants a dog so badly he can't stand it, but 4 critters is enough for now. The cat is his, so we told him when the cat passes away we'll talk about another pet. I'm pretty sure a German Shepherd is destined to become a member of our household when the cat is no longer here. The fact that we've already picked out a name for it is a pretty good clue! LOL

Lorry, our two big girls are Belgian Shepherds - Belgian Malinois to be exact. I love them! Shepherds of all kinds, really. One of our girls absolutely can't stand for us to be out of her sight. If one of us is outside and she can't see them, she paces back and forth whining and finally she'll go to the french doors and bark til they come back into her view. LOL She's also the one who refuses to sleep on the floor. Our ottoman is hers, and she'll let you know right quick if you set something on it so she can't get up there. Feet are a different story - she'll just lay on a person til they move. ROFL She'll pace for hours if she can't get on the ottoman...pitiful but hilarious at the same time. LOL
lorry i am glad chris has fallen in love with this baby too : ) my husband caved and let us keep one of the kittens the day we took them to the pet store. kaylee the 4 yr. old cried and he teared up and said just keep it! he now plays with "misty" : ) we kept the calico : )

I like small dogs :) my husband hates them though so it took a lot of talking into :)

uGgH....the dog we 'adopted' from the elderly neighbor lady has eaten a few pair of those, too (we have 6 people in the house....finally everyone realizes that they *can't* leave those lying around! lol!!!)
