Self-watering pots

If you like these type of pots, be sure and ck out this link. I love them for my AVs. THey have other things at great prices. People in the rose forum (moi included) have gone crazy over the great prices. Banders (barbara) is the enabler de jour. On the left side of the screen you'll see the different categories (shrubs, roses, vines, garden accents, etc)

Wow, I love those pots. I wish they had a better photo so I could see it better. But I sure do like them. I might have to order one for myself. Thanks for sharing the info.

I've tried "trio" pots for AVs before & didn't like the way the crowns ended up growing into one another. But it might be just fine for minis, or for putting an AV in the middle and something trailing or with loose foliage on either end, or... :-)

I just placed an order last night (a little over $100, had to get that free shipping doncha know), and then I talked to Jim's brother who is looking for ferns to plant out back... so I called them back this morning and added 11 ferns to my order for him! Their plants are guaranteed to arrive in good shape, to break dormancy, and to survive the first 2 months... apparantly Wayside has changed their previous 1 year guarantee, but at least that lets me order a bare root rose with confidence that if it doesn't do well I'll get a refund (without the guarantee, I'd be hesitant to order bare root anything this late in the season).

critter, I should have added that the trio pot is ideal for minis. I didn't buy one from Parks but I had bought one (and it wasn't no $12) which I used to plant 3 minis.

Yeah, although they do have some great deals on that site, I think that pot goes for about the same at my LGS. But you can't beat $2 ostrich ferns, even in 3 inch starter pots!
