Please Identify

Elmont, NY(Zone 7a)

Hi Everyone...this is my first post....

My name is Joe woz and I live on LI New York...we bought our home 2 years ago and I am in the process of redesigning the entire backyard.

I planted the seeds last year and did not record the species...can someone assist in identifying this one?

More photos and stuff to come.

PULL IT! This will quickly become an annoying weed. They are easy to pull, but oh, how they can multiply!

Wow a weed huh? Please send some my way! That is one pretty weed.

They are pretty when in bloom, but otherwise can look kinda ratty, especially if they don't get enough water.
They are pretty persistent because they are generous seeders, and they also have very thick, deep roots.

Hey Kay...I'm just keeping enuff of them around the base of my clematis in order to assist in keeping the soil cool...and they do look nice around the base...pull right up..they had spread quite significantly from last year...but it took less than 10 minutes to pull em back...

Thanks for the lnk as well..

peace to my fellow gardners

Oh, that Nasty Asiatic Dayflower. What an invasive thing! This is on my top ten worst-hated weeds list!

The prettier US native "Virginia Dayflower" (Tradescantia virginiana) has three blue petals and isn't a RAMPANTly-spreading weed.

Robert.
