I'm finally back home for a few weeks.... and most of my plants are still alive, albeit not in the best growth mode thanks to the irregular light and water they've been getting. My camera also broke so for now, I thought I'd share pictures from Tokyo and Toronto.
I visited a couple of city conservatories in Toronto about a month ago - one tiny one downtown (literally downtown) and a bigger one also in the city. Oh, hey.... you'll find some (mostly out-of-bloom) gessies at Allan Gardens so this isn't totally OT.
In Tokyo, I visited a old garden that is now a city park, as well as another old garden that is now part of the New Otani hotel. The city park has a lovely full moon bridge, the irises were starting to bloom (massive flowers) and lilies were also in bloom. The hotel garden has been modified to accommodate huge amounts of foot traffic so wasn't as interesting.... there are restaurants scattered around it so that you can enjoy the view while dining.
You'll find them in various sets near the top of this page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ki/sets/
enjoy.
