Before and After - show us your rescues

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Seeing Babbs before and after's gave me the idea for this thread. Isn't it amazing the transformations that these animals go through.

Lucky was one of the most pitiful creatures I have ever seen, in person or on the Animal Cops. He showed up here on New Years Eve 2-1/2 years ago, a little kitten about 3 months old- when we saw him, he was trying to eat bird seed and suet scraps from under our feeders. When I went out to try to see about him, he ran under a bush, and I knew something was wrong. I went back in to watch for him, and was horrified when I saw him go to wash his leg, and saw half of it was missing and the bone sticking out. It took us 2 days to capture him in a live trap. I took him to my vet to be put to sleep, but they called me a couple hours later and said if I would keep him till he was better, they thought they could fix him up.. and between us we could find him a home. They thought he was feral, but showed good signs of being able to be tamed. I said "ok"....

I blurred out the surgery site to make this photo a bit easier to look at. This was taken 2 weeks after he came home. I am glad I do not have photos of when he first came home. I don't want to remember what he looked like.
