I got this last summer and it tried to bloom during the winter and the buds all shrivelled from the cold. I was sure surprised when I was out watering to see this!
Wonder what other plants have been blooming above my head? LOL
First passiflora bloom
It's a beauty for sure! Mine has been blooming for a month now, non-stop - I just love mine!
That color is incredible!!!
How long does yours bloom Kay? Thanks Fish_knees! :~)
Mine continues to bloom from the first of May until the end of Oct. unless I bring it in early, in which case it rests, then blooms off and on all winter in my basement, under a 400 watt halogen light.
wow, so I have alot more to look forward to! :~) Thanks.
Is that a Passiflora Perusii? I've been trying to load a photo of mine here but am having problems doing so. I've not posted any photos as yet, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I followed the FAQ but each time I xx Preview or Send the image line blanks out. I tried to post this message only and it would not send. I'm trying again! Help!!
real pretty!
bedouin, the tag says Enrojezca Passionflower, Crimson Passionflower, Passiflora vitifolia.
I am sending you an dmail with screenshots that will hopefully solve the problem for you. :~)
It is Passiflora coccinea.
Oops! I had not completed my message! I see I have quite a bit to learn!
I saw the colour as Orange but of course Vitifolia is red. Mine is Perisii, very orangish! Loved by the Gulf Frittery butterflies as you can see. Everything is very much 'munched' by them!
Thank you PudgyMudpies. Its so much easier posting directly from ones folders and not having to go through Photobucket!
Well done! Glad to have helped. Wow, that is one hungry caterpillar. And a pretty passie flower, even if it HAS been munched on. LOL Good thing you got a picture before the cat finished it off. LOL
I have not had anymore blooms, but it looks like there might be some buds forming. :~)
This is the Passion flower Piresii that I just posted a new posting today - Feb. 6th, 2008 - asking for help in getting this sucker to bloom! Like P'Mudpies, my buds on 2 occasions also shrivelled up but NOT due to cold! My vines are inside right now growing and blooming, well 3 of them but NOT this one? Anyone have any feedback? Thanks and you can contact me directly at:

Actually, I think your tag is right and it is P. Vitifolia but I would need to see a pic of a couple of leaves on it before I can tell for sure.
