Starfly- where do you live on the crystal river? My dad retired to Fla and died several years ago. He loved the crystal river and the year before he died showed me many of the rivers, etc in the area that he lived. We all swam in the crystal river!

He lived in Dunellon. Are you far from there?

Your garden looks lovely- your husband is a hardworking man!

No just visited my dad there. I have to admitt it was different than I thought it was going to be- we all get that Miami picture in our head so imagine my surprise when I saw all these little and big farms and ranches. It was much prettier than I'd thought- I prefer the country to the hip scene.

My dad's been gone 8 years now and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him or remember something about him- good and bad, but mostly funny. My dad and 3 of his close friends were all cremated and had their ashes scattered over water- 2 of them the Pacific Ocean and I don't know about the 3rd, but my dad was scattered over the crystal river, that's how much he loved it. Now when I think of my dad I can't help thinking of that old Tina Turner song, Rollin' on the River! I know he'd get a chuckle out of that.

Wow your dad was a hard working man too! that's not an easy job!
It's nice to recall the things that made them special and those things that made us what we are today. I hear my parents in many of the things that I say to my own kids.
