I recently stayed at the Best Western in Boca Raton, FL. Every morning when I stepped out of my room I was greeted by this wonderful sight. Tropical plants were everywhere. I happened to be there last fall when Huricane Wilma hit. I wept when I saw all the destruction that hurricane wrought on 'my plants'. I was very happy to see that they have now come back in full force..

i feel your pain. this is the first year that i've really put my heart into my garden, and i was thinking the other day, winter??? i need to worry about hurricanes!! our house was the only one on our street that didn't get destroyed by Rita. i have yet to read anything on how to hurricane-proof my tropical kiddies! how cool is that...to wake up to those plants every morning!
