The Pet-Owner Connection

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

I recently had kidney surgery due to a yeast build up in my kidney, surrounding the stones I had there, which caused a continuous infection. I've had this problem for years. I noticed Sam was again losing his hair and scratching all the time, altho he has no fleas. I called the vet who has treated him many times for this same problem. It's a skin allergy which is brought on by a yeast infection or creates a yeast infection, not sure which. But I just thought it was so interesting that we've both had this yeast issue for years.

I wonder if there's a connection or if the yeast could be contagious perhaps. Is there something in our well water? Or is Sam perhaps just reacting sympathetically to my own health problems? What do you think?

Believe it or not, the vet recommended I give Sam yogurt. I couldn't believe he'd eat it. I don't even like it! But the vet recommended Strawberry-Banana, saying most dogs will eat it. So off to Wally World I went and bought a few containers of it. I set one down in front of Sam and he cautiously sniffed it, looked at me to be sure he could have it, and then he licked the little container clean!! Now everytime I go to the fridge, he waits for his yogurt! Have ya'll tried giving your pet yogurt? I admit, I tried the Yoplait Strawberry-Banana, and as far as yogurt goes, it's not too bad. So there's one more thing Sam and I can share. But NO, I do not lick the spoon after him. Eeeeew!!!
