MsKitty, that is wonderful! Does it smell? Since we are neighbors, I am interested in which ones do well for you. By the way, the Diversifolia and the Pottsii I got from you are both doing well and have new growth! I was so excited I showed everyone at my daughters birthday party. I don't think they were as happy as I was......... Oh well, they just don't get it. Beautiful pictures! -joanne

Hello Darling--What a beautiful Flower !!!! You did good--------------

Prescott, AZ

Awesome flowers Ann. I just got this one from Carol so I can't wait to see her bloom. Yes we are curious about the smell.

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks All!!

The scent (to me) is similar to the top notes of the perfume "White Shoulders" (Sandalwood, amber, patchouli, incense) with an additional sweet floral that I cannot identify.

Joanne, I have mine in a window that faces West/Southwest, so it gets bright light all day and direct sun in the late afternoon. I have been keeping it nicely moist (not letting it get dry), and misting at least twice a day.

I, of course, purchased mine from the Pimpette!

Ann (too bad the hoya forum isn't scratch-n-sniff)

Ok Ms. K, this blooming stuff is getting old:-). Give up the secrets, what are you doing to have all these blooms? Very nice flowa.

Old? Since when are fragrant hoyas making OTHER people happy old? Come on, Hoya Jedi Master...give us peons a break....LOL. I thrill each time I see a bloom, peduncle, rachis -.

Hey...you have a GREAT sense of humor!!! :>))))

My Dearest HJM,

Do I hear a hint of envy in that keyboard of yours? (LOL!!!)

Can you believe it? I am embarassed with riches in blooms this year - it is a first for me. I have never had this many bud/bloom before.

I must tell folks my really big secret: I moved many of my hoyas out of my bedroom (with a east/northeast-facing window) down to the living room with windows that face west and southwest. This has made a HUGE amount of difference for my plants given the rather rainy/cloudy weather for 7-8 months out of the year. Also, even though the humidity here is quite high (except during the summer months) at about 70%, I am a misting fanatic.

Check out all the blooms (btw, I only got this one a few months ago - let's just say I am VERY happy with my purchase...)

While we're on the subject of blooms...check out my fully opened H. naumanii

Speaking of naumanii ... for those of you who have sniffed the blooms, do you think they smell like lilac's and soap?
Lemme know.

Long Beach, CA

Those blooms look very similar to H. australis blooms, don't they? Do they smell anything like them?

Thanks everyone!

Speaking of Christina's comment on the color combination, I must say I was absolutely floored when those buds opened! I have never seen lime green blooms before. Are there other hoyas out there with such unusual colors?

Thanks Lotta.

I am especially pleased with the cv. Noelle, since those came to bloom under my care.

The naumanii was a recent purchase from the Pimpette that had buds just beginning to form, although I am grateful the plant was happy enough in my care to take those little buds all the way to bloom.

Ann, doesn't cv. Joy have the same colour combination?

Here is a super-duper closeup of cv. Noelle.
The blooms are very small and don't last long, but they sure are pretty (and they smell good)!
