Got a couple from Lowes a month ago. One is going gangbusters in this pot and has about 4 baby plants off the main that are sprouting. I want to put the plant in the ground and separate out the babies. Should I put it in the ground now and leave the babies alone, put it in the ground now and pull off the babies (pot those), or just leave them all alone until late fall? Everything I've read says to not do anything until they're dormant, but I am afraid they will very quickly outgrow the pot and die if I don't do something. Never had lillies before, so I don't have a green thumb with them.
Question On An Asiatic Lily
I would leave the plant alone until fall when it goes dormant then divide and plant. This has always worked for me. I pot all my lilies up the first year so I can enjoy on the patio in full bloom then in winter or spring divide and plant.
Hope this helps
