Fertilizing Hibiscus

I just thought I would start this thread to get an idea of how others prefer to feed their hibiscus. In the past, before I learned about DG, I always just fertilized my hibiscus with Miracle Gro. Now that I have learned that they prefer not to have a higher middle number, I have changed my fertilizer. I have my hibiscus in containers because I need to bring them indoors in the winter. I purchased the type of fertilizer that you spread around on the soil of the container and then water in thoroughly. I know though that some people prefer to fertilize a little bit each time they water with the water soluble fertilizer. I thought it would be interesting to see how others prefer to fertilize and which works best for them.
