Has anyone had success growing these in the PNW? Any advice? In the plant search, I just see folks from California discussing how much they love them.... I wonder if it's too wet here....
Sparaxis tricolor
I thought it was a zone 9 plant; too tender for the PNW.
I am on the coast in Southern Oregon near the border. These are tough and easy. I am a zone 9, we got quite a bit of frost this year but they were fine. Go ahead and give them a try, they multiply really fast and are very pretty. If you worry about the cold, mulch them a bit in winter. We nearly drowned this winter and my sparaxis and ixia did just fine. I think they would do better in the ground than in pots.

thanks for the words of encouragement, Rebecca. I am still learning what grows here and what just looks good in the nursery!
