Crookneck squash plant problem, help!

Salyer, CA

My squash plants have yellowing of the leaves here and there. The rest of the garden is fine. Just the crookneck.
I planted them about 3 weeks ago as transplants from the nursery. I put a bit of Dr. Earth in the soil mixed in and planted. They look good except for this variable. Is this a real problem or just the nature of squash plants?

they look purty good, they are heavy feeders though and might need a little extra nitrogen.
when i grew 2 acres of squash i had to give them several extra doses of nitrogen through the season to keep them going. Amonia sulfate works good, I get it from farmers co-op, the kind that is a kind of dark brown pellet, ( not the soluble sprayable kind.) it has humates in it which makes it work better with the soil and plants.

I vote for more nitrogen as well. The yellow on the newest leaves could be nitrogen deficency. Looks like there might be some woody stuff in your mulch. That stuff needs nitrogen to decompose and could be stealing it from your soil before it gets to the squash. Just add a little more nitrogen -- too much will burn the plants!
