My Sucker!!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi Gang,

Long time no see....I've been mainly on the coleus forum with the rest of some crazy kids... I hope all are well.

Now for my questions. I know this is a sucker.....will it hurt to leave it? Will it get blooms? Can I use it for cuttings to make more pretty brug?

It start yellow and turns to salmon. Any ideas who it is.... Swiped a tip of someones plant last year and did not stick around long enough to ask who it was. LOL Just kidding, I did have permission, but no name.

Fancy meeting you here, Hap! Your brug is looking good. Probably some kind of Frosty type. Suckers make the best standard tree forms. I wait till they are as tall as I want them then cut them off.

Or you can cut it up into smaller pieces and make lots of new plants.

They all will bloom just like Mom.

Or leave it be and your plant will be a big bush.

Thanks Kell, I think I will go the standard route. Nothing ventured, nothing gained....
