CLOSED: Anyone Need Water Lettuce? Other Floaters, Marginals . . .

Oakland, CA(Zone 10b)

I have quite a bit of Water Lettuce available. Also have Horsetail Rush, Common Rush, Blue Pickerel Rush, Parrots Feather and one or two more trades of Duckweed. I enjoy trading, but will also send any/all of these out for postage (think Flat Rate Priority Mail - I love those boxes!). As far as trading goes, I'd like to find some Azolla, Frogbit, Mini Pennywort, Variegated Water Celery, Water Poppy, Water Mosaic (as if!), Water Clover (variegated especially), or . . . try me! Thanks --

Hey Chris, glad to see you here and posting!! I found that feedback. LOL Thank you. :)

I don't have anything on your wish list but quite a bit of other stuff. I can really use some water lettuce, parrots feather and duckweed. I don't think I managed to bring any variegated celery from my other house but I will definatley go look.

Hi Badseed! Yes, it is great to be back! My trading has had a bit of the maniacal edge to it this year as I'm still twitchy from last year's "summer that never was". I keep waiting for some other shoe to drop - but it's been a few weeks since school ended and I'm finally starting to relax and enjoy the gardening. I'd be happy to send you all the floaters you need ;-) And remember, I'm easy ("I'm just a girl who can't say 'no' . . . ") so feel free to toss out other possibilities. Variegated anything is always welcome, and houseplants (I have very, very few) like begonia cuttings, african violet leaves for rooting, that old sprouted carrot from the vegetable bin . . . has plant trading been officially classified as a disease yet??

Here's to hoping there is no *other* shoe. LOL Ain't nothing like a kick in the pants just when you think you are free. I'm sending you an E.

Hi Chris I could use some Duckweed if you have enough left. I got DH to dig me some Blue Pickrel Rush and some kind of Bush with yellow flowers at the river last weekend. Wasn't easy with a stick lol. I keep forgetting to bring the little shovel. This week end going to get him to get me some of the white spider lilies. Also found a bunch of light purple iris but don't think he is willing to go under water for them LOL. They are not on a sand bar but out on the edge of the river. Want some of the spider lilies if we can get enough???

Oakland, CA(Zone 10b)

Hi Donna -- I'd be happy to send you a whack of duckweed - and speaking of whack, did DH used the stick for digging or did *you* use the stick on DH to get him to do the digging?? What a mental picture that makes! I'd love a spider lily - I expect to hear next that you've thrown DH in the river saying, "And don't come out til you have those plants!" Duckweed is on the way . . . ;-)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

ROFL!!!!!!! thanks Chris. Will mail spider lilies as soon as we get them.

Hi Anita --

I'm very new to daylilies, so I'd love to trade for some! I can send you an assortment of floaters - would you like me to include marginals? I have some neat water plants that add a lot to the water garden and are totally carefree. Let me know what you'd like and we can get a trade going. Thanks!

Glen Riddle Lima, PA

I just bought a variegated water clover and dwarf bamboo (not actual bamboo, but looks like it.) I'm going to check the roots/ rhizomes tonight to see if they're good for dividing... I'd love to trade for some parrot's feather and water lettuce. Do you still have some to trade?

Thanks!
