Hello.
Does anyone know of a source for seeds or small plants of Christia obcordata? I can only find them wholesale or very expensive.
Thank you.
Erick
Christia obcordata
I got mine at Black Jungle Terrarium Supply...and I think Tropiflora had them too.
I couldn't keep this thing happy and lost it:(
Thank you Nan. I will check with them.
Erick
You're welcome, Erick....good luck finding one, and post photos if you should get one...they're a really unique plant!
Thank you very much Nan. I saw a picture of one and I am determined to find it! Tropiflora's are really expensive - $19.95 w/o shipping. Black Jungle Terrarium Supply doesn't list them on their website, but I sent them an email asking if they are available.
Erick
Oh, wow...BJTS's were less than that...
Try googling it without the 'h' (Cristia obcordata).....Black Jungle's page comes up.
I couldn't put the link on here....for some reason it wouldn't 'take'! lol!
They have it (or had it?) for $8.99.
Nan, you are so very kind. Know that it is sincerely appreciated.
Thank you for the great advice. Unfortunately, Black Jungle has discontinued carrying it. The only other source I could find off Google was Cloud Jungle, and they are out of stock as well. I will keep looking....I am determined to find it!
Thank you again. Hope you are enjoying the early growing season in the midwest this year!

Erik, i was curious about this plant and had to know more. it is so cool. i was looking at the pictures in the plant files that 'jnana' had posted and the discussion to follow. someone commented that Hirts had it on e-bay. it was last year i think, but it might be worth checking out. being the computer genius that i am, i would make a link to it---just don't know how. LOL sorry.
I am growing a lot of this plant here. It was brought over by a friend of mine from Thailand and their are two forms. Both are very unusual looking like butterflys rather than leaves.
Hey, Erick, there you go!
Brian....how do you grow this plant?
I've tried twice and have failed both times.....even waiting several months to see if it was simply in dormancy.
Top Tropicals has this plant. It seems a little expensive though.
Such great people on this site! Everyone is always so helpful. Wow.
Thank you ashleykelly. I agree - I think it is a very cool plant. I LOVE the leaves. I'll take your helpful advice and do some checking on eBay.
Brian, I wish you every success in growing these plants. Grow enough so we can all have them! Do you have any thoughts on when you might have them available for sale?
Thank you Nan. I'll be interested in Brian's response to your question.
marieortiz, thank you. I saw that too. However, $19.95 before shipping is too steep for me. The only way I'd pay that much for a plant is if it not only was amazing looking, but also cleaned my house and walked the dogs!
