Plumie Question - Please Help

Wesley Chapel, FL(Zone 9a)

I need to mail an Aztec Gold that I've been rooting. It's just beginning to form roots.

How do I prepare it for mailing? Should I put the rooted end in soil? Or just mail it bare root?

Thanks.

Skaz, potting soil is heavy, and it will make the postage costly, and it really isn't necessary. Since it is just beginning to form roots, you can easily use Spaghnum Peat Moss instead which is much lighter. Even damp newspaper, a paper towel, or shredded paper will work. And then enclose in a plastic bag and seal around the trunk. I recently received some grafted plumerias that just had the root system tied up in only plastic baggies, and they were fine. Here is how Florida Colors ships their rooted (grafted) plants:

Thanks, Clare. On the advice of a friend, I sent the plant with nothing on the roots.
