I have five and not one of them has bloomed yet. WHY WHY I am going to cry.
When are mine going to bloom
Patience...!
The'll bloom not a minute before they're ready. The light must be correct, and above all they almost always must be potbound to bloom. Yes, as Christina says, patience is the only solution to your problem. How long have your had your hoyas Makshi? Are they mature? I find carnosas will take up to three years from a cutting to bloom (as long as it's not transplanted from its little pot). Most of the rest will take less time.
Christine
They are large plants not cuttings. They have little arms reaching everywhere but no blooms. Patience I don't have for plants that take long to bloom. I will just be happy with the foliage and not worry about the blooms. Right
Makshi.... why don't you write which hoyas they are....with pictures if you can,...and how you are growing them. How often you water them? What kind of soil they are in? What fert you use. There may be some clues.....
Carol
I grow them in hanging baskets, potting mix, water every 10 days or so with 15 65 15 fert., they hang in a bright window. One is Rubra, Hindu Rope, and I will have to look at the other one.
Those two are stubborn bloomers at times. Try watering when dry not on a schedule and use a half or 1/4 strength fert. if you use it each time. They are getting too much fert. if you use it full strength everytime...and fertilizer should be watered in a damp medium...not a dry one. Try foliar fertilizer too. If they are large plants, maybe they need JUST a bloom fert....nigrogen is for growth. Also...don't cut off the vines...that is where the peduncles form. Grow the two you mentioned in lower light...they can take quite less light than many other hoyas....and they enjoy the cool more than the hot.
Carol
Carol,
I never use full strength fert. and only once a month. I will also keep a better eye on the watering of them. Thanks
