Everyone has been posting such lovely pictures of their AVs lately, I figured I'd better take a few shots of what's blooming around here.
'Biscayne Trail' is finally getting full and looking wonderful. It started getting multiple crowns fairly quickly, but it grew up & up for a long time before it started expanding outward.... looked a little bit odd! I love the flowers... just the color of woodland violets... and of course the variegated girl leaves are way cool!
I have a few AVs blooming, too!
My folks went driving around Ireland and Scotland last month, and they brought me this cute little Belleek pot. It came with a votive candle, but everyone in my family pretty much knew I'd be putting an AV in it! Actually, I have a 'Lil Bit O Irish' plantlet that I want to repot and put in here, as I think the bright cream variegation on the leaves will go beautifully with the porcelain.... but meanwhile, I thought the first blooms of this little plantlet of 'Milky Way Trail' showed off nicely in it! I'm thinking my leaf for propagation came from MsC -- thanks!
Jill they are beautiful. The Biscyne Trail you gave me is looking good. Not ready to bloom yet but healthy and growing. Love the Irish container.
Here's an older picture of 'Biscayne Trail', with buds forming, mature leaves ringing the outside of the plant and multiple crowns forming in the center.... see what I mean about the odd growth habit? But I think my patience has been amply rewarded!
edited to add that this photo was taken in mid February, so you can see this plant has really been growing!

Jill they are beautiful
Look how bunched-up the center is while the buds are forming and then the first picture when the buds blooms. The center really relaxed. I love the girl leaves.
The leaves of Ramblin Reflections look like the on my Outer Orbit
Oh, how pretty they are. I really love that little pot. It looks great with the milky way in it. I love the bloom on the 'Apache Victory' AV.
Thanks for the compliments!
Makshi, I haven't forgotten about sending you a trio of pink-blooming plants.... I'm sorry about the delay! Allison says she sends AVs all summer without worrying about the heat, and since my packing system seems to be working well I figure I can do the same.
There are a few blooms upstairs, too.... I'll try to snap a few more photos....
Beautiful plants!! Are they all under lights or just natural lighting?
Most are under lights, but when they're blooming especially well I show them off on the back of the kitchen island, which is about 18 feet from all the south-facing windows in the morning room -- bright enough for a while, but after a couple of weeks they start reaching up for more light.
Jill you did a good job with your 'Biscayne Trail' . I would have been tempted to throw it in the thrash or give to Hubby to grow outside. Your plant sure did a complete turn around !
This is one I realy want and no luck growing it by leaves
'Skagit Victory Trails' ~ Last Fall I bought leaves from VG lost both. This April I bought another set. Lost both :(( Guess it's not meant to be mine. Your's is beautiful ! 'Ramblin Reflections' Pretty ! All of them are Pretty ! Thanks for sharing ~
Morning Jill!
What treasures! TFS! I love that little Belleek pot....why do they call it that I wonder!
They all look so nice and healthy....your a good mom!!!
Joanne
I'll be taking a crown or two off 'Skagit Victory Trails' when it gets larger, so should have that one to share. I think I've got leaves down of both it and 'Ramblin Reflections'.
Joanne, "Belleek" is just the name of the porcelain company.
"Belleek" Their from Ireland. I had a bunch of old ones and sold them. On Ebay certain ones can go very high.
Each one is hand made.
right. but they seem to be making them a little differently now... some of the old ones are extremely thin & fragile, but this one seems a little sturdier. I love the shamrock!
lovely plants, Critter!
Can you believe I am potting up still more plantlets from those crazy leaf pots of 'Cambridge Missy'?? There are some in this salad tray, plus as least a dozen more, mostly in little thumbprint pots. I've got a good number of little 'Madeleine' and 'Silly Girl' plantlets coming along also... they should be a nice size by fall!
I grew a large Biscayne Trail a couple years ago into a hanging pot full of buds and flowers and sent that plant with Thunder Suprise full of buds to Mom-in Law for Mom's Day toward her gifts. Mine grew well for me. I only had natura; light no stands then. She still has them !
Cool, Allison! I'll bet 'Biscayne Trail' grew faster for you and was better behaved, LOL!
Oh baby Jay I'd love him !
Mine was grown in natural light as I had no plant stands then Jill Do you grow your's under lights ? Maybe this makes a difference ?
You sure have a lot of pretty bloomers and lot's of baby growing going on there ! Great growing ! Thanks for sharing !
With the low humidity in the house this winter, I think some of my minis may have gotten a bit more dry than they'd have liked between waterings, and maybe that led to some increased suckering.
Allison, I can see it's time to start a new wish list for you in my trade tracker! ;-)
So far, I've put down Baby Jay, Sterling Trinket, Skagit Victory Trails, and Ramblin' Reflections.
Critter they look beautiful! I just love that little milky way trail! But they all look so pretty!
WooHoo on the Apache Victory babies! I'm going to have to look that one up. All of your plants are just lovely, Critter...what a green thumb you have!!
