Planting Cuttings...

Royse City, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm new to epis and recently bought some cuttings from epigalleria.com and don't know how to plant them. It came with some instructions but I have never heard of alot of the things it says to put into the mixture. I have dragonfruit cactus that I put in regular potting soil and sand mixed equally and they are doing great, but I know these are a bit differant. Can anyone advise me as to what type of soil to plant these cuttings in? I would really appreciate it. I've seen some of the beautiful pictures some of you have, and would love to have some of my own.

Jason, your dragonfruit mix will be perfect. I just use my regular well-draining potting soil. Some people use cactus mix mixed with orchid bark. It really doesn't matter what you plant them in as long as it drains well and doesn't hold water. One of the things that I like best about epi's is that they are easy and not fussy at all. Just plant them about an inch deep and water lightly, and then mist or water sparingly until you see new growth coming in. With your Texas heat, they should root in no time.

Thanks Clare , I really appreciate it. I just wanted to make sure I did it right.
